How these counties were selected

After Los Angeles, we selected the county with the most Part D enrollees in each of eight additional states, working down CMS’s national county enrollment ranking. This adds counties across the Pacific Northwest, Southwest, Midwest, South and Northeast; all eight additions are among the top 16 counties nationally in this report.

The selection uses CMS Medicare Monthly Enrollment for June 2026, published September 23, 2026 and checked October 15, 2026. Part D totals combine MA-PD and standalone PDP enrollment, including people outside these guides’ general-enrollment MA-PD scope. Enrollment is a measure of coverage, not prescription fills, medication utilization or projected 2027 enrollment.

What the comparisons show

Each page includes all general-enrollment MA-PD listings for that county in the September 2026 landscape. SNPs, standalone Part D plans and plans without Part D are outside the comparison. A product listing can still require prior authorization or have other conditions. Missing or suppressed coverage data remains labeled as unavailable.

Pharmacy networks and medication cost estimates are not included. Confirm current coverage, covered use and enrollment availability with Medicare Plan Finder or the plan before making a coverage decision.
